Scheduling Events in Danforth Chapel

Weddings

All activities to take place in Danforth Chapel must be scheduled through the Student Involvement and Leadership Center, (785) 864-4861. Before an event can be scheduled, a completed reservation form and payment must submitted to the Student Involvement and Leadership Center. Reservation forms are available for download or can be picked up at the Student Involvement and Leadership Center office, Room 400 Kansas Union. Reservations for weddings must be made at least 30 days in advance of the date requested. Reservations for christenings must be made at least 2 weeks in advance of the date requested. If you fax your reservation, you will have one week to make your payment to the Student Involvement and Leadership Center. If payment is not made your reservation will be canceled. Reservations are not guaranteed until payment is received. If your payment is made by check and it is returned for insufficient funds. your reservation will be canceled.

Charges for the use of Danforth Chapel are $50.00 for students and $150.00 for all others. There is no charge for memorial services and christenings unless it is held on a weekend. Tax deductible donations are also welcome and can be made by sending a check payable to KU Endowment Association with a notation in the check memo indicating the donation is for Danforth Chapel.. Checks for donations may be sent to the Student Involvement and Leadership Center or directly to KU Endowment Association. Donations are used for improvements to the Chapel.

Student Groups

While there is no charge for registered student groups to reserve Danforth, we do require you to fill-out both a University Events Form (UEC) and a Danforth Reservation Form.

The signature you need for the University Events Form is that of Becky Dunavin, Administrative Assistant for the Student Involvement and Leadership Center. Both the UEC Form and the Danforth Reservation Form must be turned into SILC by Tuesday at noon, at least two weeks prior to your event.

Other

If you are looking to reserve Danforth Chapel for a memorial service or christening, you need only fill out the Danforth Reservation Form. Once the form is completed, it can be mailed or dropped off at:

There is no charge for either of these services if they occur on a weekday. However, if you choose to have your service on a weekend, the $75.00 charge will apply.
